  • Frequently asked questions about data analytics

What do data analytics services include?

We cover the full path from raw data to a decision: data assessment, pipelines and warehousing, modelling, dashboards and reporting, and the governance that keeps definitions consistent. Most engagements start with a focused question — one decision the business wants to make better — then expand once the data is trustworthy.

How long before we see something useful?

A first dashboard on clean, well-scoped data is typically weeks, not quarters. The variable is data readiness: if source systems disagree about what a customer or an order is, reconciliation comes first, and that work is worth doing properly rather than hiding behind a dashboard.

Which BI and data platforms do you work with?

Tableau, Power BI, and Looker for visualization; Snowflake, BigQuery, and PostgreSQL or Redshift for warehousing; SQL and Python for modelling and transformation. We recommend based on your existing stack and the team who will maintain it, not on a preferred vendor list.

Do we need a data warehouse before we can start?

Not necessarily. If your data volumes and sources are modest, a well-modelled reporting layer over your existing database can be enough. A warehouse earns its cost when you have multiple sources, growing volume, or a need for governed, shared definitions.

How do you make sure the numbers are trusted?

By defining metrics once, in one place, with named owners — and by reconciling reported figures against source systems before launch. Analytics projects more often fail on trust than on tooling, so governance and definitions are part of the build, not an afterthought.

Can you work with the analytics tools we already own?

Yes. We frequently extend an existing Power BI or Tableau deployment, or repair a pipeline that has stopped being maintained. Replacing tooling is a recommendation we make only when the current stack genuinely blocks the outcome.

Have a decision your team keeps making on gut feel? Talk to our team and we will scope the smallest piece of analytics work that would change it.
